Cary M – Maple Valley FD, WA Posting Date: 01/03/18 07:25:00
Chief,Your course gave me a different way to approach an assessment lab and be better prepared to present myself. This included a building of my own confidence giving me a higher drive to succeed. A sincere “thank you” for your time in coaching others as I was just promoted yesterday. Thanks Boss.
Dan – Sacramento Metro Fire Posting Date: 10/20/17 09:29:00
Chief Kastros and his staff provides a unique and “insider” view of the promotional process through the introduction of a myriad of possible components and scenarios all the while providing a family-like atmosphere that encourages learning and self-discovery. What I found most valuable were his exercises aimed at “knowing yourself,” because only then was I able to recognize my readiness for my desired position and realize my full potential. I prepared for my captain’s exam using many of the principles I learned in the Mastering the Fire Service Assessment Center workshop. Shortly thereafter, I tested, came out #2 on a list of 25, and promoted to captain 1 week later. Thank you Chief!!!
Rob – Colorado Springs, CO FD Posting Date: 07/21/17 08:27:00
Chief Kastros, with your help and guidance, I was promoted to Fire Lieutenant today. Thank You and I would recommend your class to anyone looking to promote. Thanks Again! Rob Hicks Colorado Springs Fire Department.
Blake – Oceanside FD Posting Date: 04/27/17 05:58:00
With the assistance of your team I came out ranked #1 on the list, I was also the only candidate to be placed in the “A” band. I was humbled and impressed by the knowledge of you and your team during our time together in Oceanside. Not only did your class make me a better candidate, it made me want to be a better firefighter and leader.
Rick – Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue Posting Date: 04/21/17 08:35:00
Our process ended up having a written and three assessment center components; tactical, oral board and inbox exercise. I am proud to say that I scored number 1 in all three assessment center components. My tactics, oral board and inbox scores were 100%, 99% and 95% respectively.
Dan – Naperville, Illinois FD Posting Date: 04/21/17 06:25:00
My first assessment center ever and I landed #3 out of 49 people. I just want to to say thank you for the work you do helping others to become better fire officers. Your class in Sacramento in February set the groundwork and helped me to understand where my weaknesses were and how much work I truly needed to do and in a short period of time. So thank you thank you thank you! I look forward to utilizing these skills the rest of my career.
James – Renton Fire Authority, WA Posting Date: 03/31/17 03:02:00
I just got the results from my test and I finished #1 on the captains exam. This class was one of my favorite classes and I would recommend it to anyone looking to promote or even wanting to become better at your job. Thank you!
Todd – Los Angeles City Fire Posting Date: 03/04/17 08:01:00
I wanted to let you know that after a long and arduous road, I was promoted to Fire Captain with the Los Angeles City FD on February 16th. Your, “Mastering the Fire Service Assessment Center” class, was a huge help in allowing me to be successful in our process. Moreover, it has served me extremely well already in the actual position. In four short shifts, I’ve had two structure fires. More challenging than that, have been the personnel “spot fires” that I’ve had to deal with.

Just wanted to say thank you again for your help, guidance and friendship. You’re certainly leaving the fire service better than you found it! Please let me know if I can ever assist you in the future!

Rich – Littleton, CO FD Posting Date: 02/06/17 04:45:00
Just wanted to let you know that after attending your seminar I was successfully promoted to Battalion Chief. Your seminar was an invaluable tool in my success during the assessment center. I am so grateful for all your help and information! Keep up the great work!
Brandon – Marinwood Fire Posting Date: 01/06/17 08:16:00
I attended your Assessment Center Workshop held back in September 12-15. I just wanted to follow up with you like you asked. I’m very pleased and excited to tell you that I finished number 1 in the captains promotional process and have accepted the position of Fire Captain affective 12/25/16. It was a wonderful Christmas present to my family and I. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope the holidays brought you and your family much joy and I hope to see you again soon.
Aaron – West Metro Fire, Colorado Posting Date: 09/27/16 06:25:00
Chief Kastros,This is Aaron Johnson from West Metro Fire in Lakewood Colorado. I took your mastering the fire service assessment center class in Vegas in January. I wanted to give you an update on our Lieutenant exam. 54 took the written with 49 passing. I was #7 after the written. After the assessment center I was #6. We are promoting 7 Lieutenants immediately. The class definitely helped me prepare as I had 9 months to get ready.

Thanks again,

Ben – Houston, TX FD Posting Date: 06/02/16 05:04:00
The 4-day assessment center workshop helped me come out #5 out of almost 300 people who took the Captain’s exam for the City of Houston.

Your workshop was instrumental in my ranking #1 of 308 candidates for 2016 Houston Fire Department Captains Exam. Thanks
Jerid – Lincoln Fire & Rescue Posting Date: 11/06/15 12:28:00
We just got our results from our captains test today and I was number 2 on the list. Not only that, but the top 12 and number 20 of the 23 candidates on the list took your class! The assessment center wasn’t exactly as we went over in class but what you guys did obviously got us ready for it. I know for me personally you helped me get into the mentality of being in the position ahead of time.I can’t thank you enough for what you taught us. Your class was absolutely the key to the test and you both are incredible instructors. I had so much fun learning from you both. I know you both will say that it was us that put in the time and effort to come to the class and I understand that but what you brought to us was fantastic. I can’t imagine going through this process without taking the assessment center class.
Kevin – Clark County Fire, Las Vegas Posting Date: 10/31/15 04:39:00
Your Mastering the Fire Service Assessment class is an amazing, well taught, and perfect for aspiring captains who want to knock the ball out of the park in the assessment.

I wanted to take a moment and thank Chief Tom Ottman, Chief Anthony Kastors, and Chief Stuart Roth. I attended Mastering the Fire Service Assessment Center course with 3 other Lieutenants from Portland Fire for an upcoming Captain Exam. Three of us ranked in the top 3 spots out of 42 candidates and the fourth is ranked number 7. All of us will be promoted in less than 6 months. To any prospective student, this course works and it will give you a competitive edge, guaranteed! Thank you again for your example and realistic approach to leadership.

Add another success story to the board! I took the Mastering Command: Calm the Chaos class in Reno in June of 2014 and then the Mastering the Assessment Center class in Sacramento a few months later in September. After finishing #1 on our Captain’s promotional exam last week, I was just offered (and obviously accepted) a Captain position two days ago. Thank you so much! The training and practical exercises made all the difference, and there is no substitute for the quality coaching all of the staff provided. Special thanks to Lieutenant Mike Jones, Chief Geoff Miller, and Chief Stewart Roth.P.S. For the guys in my class, thanks for all your help and input! My trip to Brazil was awesome. I trained with Herbert Burns (check him out on Youtube) and several BJJ world champs for 9 days. It was some of the hardest training I’ve ever done… totally worth it.
Marcin Szczepanski – Gig Harbor FD, WA Posting Date: 02/03/15 07:04:00
Chief Kastros,Just wanted to write to you about some exciting news. After coming in number one on our last promotional exam I am beyond excited to announce that, after a recent chiefs interview, my year-long temporary appointment has turned into a full time position as a Lieutenant with Gig Harbor Fire Department! As of the first of this month, I begin the next chapter of my career working for BC Todd Meyer on C-Shift.

I wanted to take the time to thank you again for your invaluable help in achieving my goal of becoming a company officer in the fire service. Your teachings and mentorship through your classes, books and personal interactions have had an indelible influence on not only my career, but my personal development as well. I hope you continue to use your God given talents by helping others achieve their goals as time and health allows.

As if this wasn’t enough, God has blessed Lauren & I with our second child, a baby girl, which we hope to welcome to this world any day now (she must take her stubbornness from me, as she is 3 days past her due date as of this email.) 2015 is starting off with a bang!

Thank you again, and God bless you and your family.

Chief, just received my results today and I finished the testing process for Captain #1. No doubt the Assessment Center Workshop I attended in San Jose played a HUGE part in my standing. I entered each facet of the test with a swagger I didn’t posses prior to the workshop. In the personnel problem, inbox and tactics as each question or scenario was presented my confidence grew. I knew walking in that I had the tools to perform as this “was just another day in the fire station”. During the interview I felt as if the panel was lobbing soft balls. And yes, I remembered to smile! Thank you and your staff for the excellent preparation! Lt. Jeff Sorenson Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue (WA)

I would like to thank Chief Kastros and the team for their dedication to the American fire service. My name is Johnny Maccini and after attending several of their workshops, myself and a colleague scored #1 and #2 on a Captain’s promotional exam. This was an extremely competitive process in the Santa Monica Fire Department and the training that we received clearly ranked us above the rest. Thanks for helping me to achieve my dream of becoming a Fire Captain!

I want to thank Chief Kastros and Chief Loomis for helping me prepare for my Battalion Chief Assessment Center. I was promoted to Battalion Chief for the Clark County Fire Department this past week. I took their Mastering the Fire Service Assessment Center and Mastering Command – Calming the Chaos, An All Risk All Type courses. If you are looking for an excellent training course to assist you in preparing for your next leadership position in the fire service, then you have found the right place. The courses will assist you preparing for the assessment center by improving your own skill sets by preparing for the position you are seeking. Thank you and stay safe, Scott
Curtis – Vallejo FD Posting Date: 02/03/14 01:51:00
I have taken our department’s promotional test for captain five times. Each time I barely missed it by one point. I was struggling to know what I was doing wrong. After taking Chief Kastros’ class, I discovered it was my mental preparation for taking the test. His class and his personal encouragement and advice helped me realize I could do the job and to bring that attitude into the test. His class also gave me tools and a system to fight any fire rather real or simulated by using the system taught in his classes. Chief Kastros sincerely cares about each student in his class, and it shows in his presentation. So if you want to be a better person when you are sitting in that captain’s seat and to do a better job, take this class. Thank so much Chief Kastros.
Mark – Vallejo FD Posting Date: 02/03/14 11:56:00
I posted a comment back in 2013 when I was promoted to Battalion Chief after taking the “Mastering the Assessment Center in 2012.” And as a result of the way B/C Kastros lays out the course materials, with emphasis placed on preparing for and learning the job versus preparing for the test, I was also able to come out number “1” on our most recent Deputy Fire Chief’s exam. To ask the question, “Is this class worth the time and money?” All I can say is that the proof is evident in the fact that many of the students have promoted within their organizations.
Russ- Eastside Fire Posting Date: 12/14/13 03:43:00
I had the opportunity to take Mastering the Fire Service Assessment Center from Chief Kastros. I would recommend it to anyone with the desire to promote. His focus is more on preparing for the position than a test. His class helped me excel in the assessment center, and 6 months ago I was promoted to Captain.
Mark – Vallejo FD Posting Date: 11/07/13 11:52:00
“If you want to advance in your career, the Mastering the Assessment Center class will definitely assist you toward that goal. After failing my promotional exam in 2011, I heard about Battalion Chief Kastros, and took the class in (2012). I am thankful to say, that I came out number one on the last test, and I was promoted to Battalion Chief. His course is effective, because it is not about preparing you for “the test,” but preparing you for the position. The class helped me to identify various weaknesses, but it also helped me to take a systematic approach to address each area. B/C Kastros has a servant’s heart and truly wants to make a positive change in the fire service, by improving each one of us, and with that, how can you go wrong?I am glad to call him my friend, a brother and a mentor. Respectfully, Battalion Chief Mark Sharpe (VFD)”

I would like to say thank you to Chief Kastros for all the great advice and help he gave me during my BC testing process. I read the Mastering the Assessment Center book and listen to the audio book in order to prepare for a Battalion Chief’s exam. A week after the test was completed I was offered a position as the Administrative Battalion Chief in charge of training. Chief Kastros helped me work on my weaknesses, and he also helped enhance my strengths. I highly recommend the “Kastros” system when preparing for any promotional process in the fire service! It is a very solid system!
Fred Halazon Posting Date: 08/17/13 11:17:00
I just wanted to say thanks to Chief Kastros for all the solid advice he provided to me. After utilizing the book and audio for a promotional exam, I placed #1 on the list and was promoted to lieutenant shortly thereafter. Also, following conversations with Chief Kastros, I was able to assist members of my crew and lead them in a positive direction my first year. The real work starts once a person gets made. This is where the learning began for me, and I still refer to the book and information on the CDs for assistance along the way. The entire program is very beneficial for aspiring company officers as well as those already in the seat! Thanks again Chief Kastros, and to your team!

Chief Kastros, I attended your Mastering the Assessment Center training course in February. Not only was it extremely helpful in preparing me for the promotional process, it also helped me prepare for the position. A few months after the course I took my first captains test, which included a written test and assessment center. The assessment center consisted of an in-basket exercise, panel interview, employee counseling session and emergency simulator. I am happy to say that I received the highest assessment center score, finished the process ranked number one overall and I will start my new position “as a Captain” in June. Thank you for all of your help and encouragement.

Chief Kastros, I just wanted to take the time to thank you for caring so much about our fire service community. Your level of experience and quality of training and mentoring firefighters and promotional candidates alike, is second to none. Our fire department just hosted a Captain’s Promotional Test. All nine of us that took your class not only past, but most ranked very high on the promotional list. This is not just because you taught us how to prepare for the test, but because you taught us how to properly prepare for the job. I know we all feel ready for the promotion and have developed the KSA’s required for the position. There is still a lot to learn, but we are off to a great start thanks to you. Thank you again Chief.
Ron J – Oakland FD Posting Date: 11/03/12 09:55:00
The assessment center class is unlike anything else I’ve ever attended before. Two months later, I took the Lieutenants test in Oakland, CA and came out #1! Whats even more exciting is the fact that I didn’t even prepare for the test, I prepared for the position. This is what was stressed throughout the class. Making that paradigm mental shift gave me an advantage to Mastering the Assessment Center and becoming a competent officer at the same time.Thank you,

Ron J

IT’S WORTH YOUR MONEY! We are a proud bunch in our department and feel we know what we are doing. This class taught us all how to do it better. You’re learning from a real firefighter that became a chief officer and now teaches classes. Its not all about the test its about making you better at your job so you’ll do better on the test. Just got the word today I’m 1 of 2 guys out of 23 to get promoted and we both used the Kastros system. Oh, and more importantly, he’s a good person.

I just got my results from our BC assessment center that I took on Friday. I came out number 1! Your guidance over the winter really put me on the right track as I prepared for the test. I talked to Wayne Howerton who was the BC’s union rep in the tactical, and he said that the evaluators thought it looked like I had a plan and knew what I was doing. The evaluators were apparently also impressed with what I had written down the side of my page and how I used it. Any guesses on what that was??? That’s right, SAWCSSRECEOVSS. Thanks Again, Rich Llewellyn Spokane Valley FD

I attended the assessment center course you gave a few months ago in Gig Harbor. The course helped me to be well prepared for the assessment center portion of the the test. There were no surprises on test day. Some of the key points like, relating experiences to how it has prepared me for the position of captain, verbalizing everything and not making assumptions during fire scenarios, and knowing what is currently important to The Tacoma Fire Department were very helpful and spot-on.

Thanks for the great course, Warren Smith

You were always courteous and detailed in your explanations of your methods. The main things I took away from your class is “close the loop”, VES, and “walking bosses.” I also liked the simulator training. We should never stop training for events that might occur. I recommended that all of our newly promoted Captains should take your class. I hope to see you again in the beginning of 2011.

I now look at things much differently then I did before, from customer service to strategy and tactics. When required to fill the role as Captain I now feel confident in my decisions and enjoy what I am doing. I come to work focused on customer service no matter what the nature of the call is. This positive attitude has even rubbed off on the crew I work with and I believe makes all of our days at work more enjoyable. I want to say “Thank You” for the change you have made in me. I have always enjoyed my job, you have made it more then I could have ever expected. Thanks again.

Mastering the Fire Service Assessment Center seminar was a key factor in my successful promotion to Captain. Anthony is a motivating and inspiring individual. The content of the seminar is outstanding and you are given plenty of time to hone your skills. Out of 173 candidates interviewed, I finished number 3. Number 1 and 2 also took the seminar. Thanks Anthony for all your help! God Bless.

Chief, I wanted to say thanks for all that you do. I was promoted to the position of Captain last week. You put me on a course for success, unwinding and defining all that was holding me back. By making the process challenging and easy at the same time, you helped me to create success, provide opportunity to practice and helped prepare my mind. Now that the test is over, the real work begins. I’m ready. Thanks so much. Tom

Hello Chief, Just wanted to let you know that your class got a very mentally challenged individual like myself to #1 on the captains list here in SJFD. Thank you for the help and I can say that your class is ridiculous (in a good way).
Shawn, Merced FD Posting Date: 12/21/09 08:07:00
I wanted to let you know that I recently completed the assessment center for battalion chief with the City of Merced and placed number one. I will start on December 28th. Thanks to your book, seminar, and valuable insight I was able to score well against some talented competitors. I know that “Training for the Position” and not just studying for a test made all of the difference. Your seminar and the interaction with other attendees was invaluable and taught me a lot about myself. Learning where my strengths and weaknesses were and being able to focus on them prior to the exam allowed me have more confidence in my skills and abilities heading into the assessment center. I would recommend Anthony’s book and seminar to anyone preparing for a promotional exam. Thank you again for the valuable skills you have acquired and sharing them with your brothers and sisters in the fire service. Shawn Henry, Merced FD
Nick Posting Date: 12/21/09 08:21:00
When I originally took the class I was consumed with passing the Captains exam. After participating in the assessment center I was encouraged to be the position instead of just passing a test. That shift in thinking gave me the edge to place # 3 on the list and I was recently promoted to Captain. Thanks for everything
Vince – Moraga Orinda Posting Date: 12/21/09 08:09:00
Thanks to you i came out number 1 on the list and got promoted dec. 16 2008. without your inspiration and knowledge i would never have done so well. thanks again chief– Vince

Chief Kastros- This is John McNamara. Just wanted to let you know that your book was amazing. I finished # 5 on our captains exam. I scored a 92.08% on our assessment center, which I could not have done without your book. I would have placed higher overall but my written exam score was only 78%. The #3 overall had only a 90% on the assessment center. I memorized that book. The assessment center seemed almost easy. If anyone asks me how to prepare for the exam next time, I am going to point them in your direction. Thanks again – John McNamara, Reno Fire Dept.

Anthony, I wanted to touch base with you after having taken my first Captains test. First of all, I came out number one on the list, by about 6 points; the others were separated by literally hundredths of a point. I did all kinds of stuff to prepare myself for the job of Captain and not the test. And just like you told us… don’t prepare for the test, prepare for the job was my mantra and it apparently worked. 8 of us took it, I was the only guy taking it for the first time, and I beat out two guys who’d been acting Captains for at least 10 years. I don’t know if I would have found the right mental place to be had I not attended your workshop. It was really one of the best investments in my career and myself I’ve made. Thanks again.

Chief—Just wanted to drop you a note that I was promoted to Engineer, at the UC Davis FD, on 8/5/09. After taking your class, Calm the Chaos, I knew using your system would help me stay organized. My First In Test went really well—I nailed all the key points. Many Thanks. John R. Hodge Engineer, UC Davis Fire Department

Calm the Chaos was awesome. I was immediately able to apply the concepts to working incidents and the results were notably more effective. Thanks so much!

I am so grateful for the opportunity to have trained with you. By reading your book, listening to the audio tape and attending the workshop I was able to turn my Fire service dream into a reality and promote to the rank of Captain.Your insight, candor and exceptional instruction eliminated the mystery and barriers that had held me back in the past. I came out #2 on our recent Captain’s list and finished with a simulator score of 97.5%. Once again, your instruction is what made the difference as I entered the testing process as an officer, not just another candidate. Thank you so much for teaching me the core skills necessary to be an effective line officer. You also taught me not to allow any testing process to stand between me and my Fire service goals. GOD bless. Respectfully, Dennis

Andoni, I want to thank you for the excellent seminar that you gave in preparation for LA City’s first ever assessment center for fire captain. I really enjoyed how interactive, fun, and engaging the class was along with the very pointed instruction. The information from both the class and the book allowed me to achieve a score of 100% in my first attempt at an assessment center. Between what I had been studying in your book with friends and what went on at the seminar, we attained scores of 93.5% and 100%. I really liked the fact that your information isn’t based on techniques or gimicks rather it teaches how to most effectively utilize our already acquired skill sets. Many thanks again, Chuck, LA City FD

Andoni, This is Rob Buckhout from your recent class in Monterey. Just wanted to let you know I finished #1 on our recent Captain’s exam at Oroville Fire! Just wanted to say thanks! Your tips on the simulator were invaluable and I definitely felt as though I was a Captain DURING the interview. Thanks again and I will recommend your classes to anyone that asks.
Bobby, Monterey FD Posting Date: 12/30/08 09:19:00
This class gave me the competitive edge that helped me excel in the assessment center. It gets you out of the mind set of someone taking a promotional test, and into the mindset of someone who has already been promoted. This is the attitude that we show the proctors that you possess the charisma, confidence, and leadership to do the job.
Raul Mayorga, San Jose FD Posting Date: 12/30/08 09:13:00
Your class is motivational and inspirational. Plus, you tell it like it is. The class was a success since most all your students have or will be promoted by this year. Your class is invaluable and worth every penny. A must for all wanting that edge that most won’t have. Your positive attitude is contagious. I have used your skills on the job since then. Just more tools to have in the arsenal. Raul, SJFD

Can’t say enough about the class!! Thanks Chief Kastros for sharing your knowledge, skills, and abilities with us. The class was worth the time and every cent. You really made this class fun and always kept it motivating with all those great stories. Looking forward to more classes in the future. Your material is just what the fire service needs, you are way a head of the curve. Thanks again, from all “The LA City Boy”!

Thanks for the great class. In addition, thanks for your genuineness and backing your reputation with a display of sound tactics and real world experience. In the short five minutes I’ve spent in the fire service, I’ve been fortunate enough to attend most of the conferences nationwide, East coast, West Coast, FDIC, and Firehouse World. This has afforded me the opportunity to listen to some of our current pioneers in the business. Sir, I would have to shove you out near the pole position in that group. I think its very appropriate that you have Chief Brunancini delivering the Forward in your book…because you breed the same inspiration that he does when you speak.

Thank you Andoni for the great class and all the assistance you gave me during my testing process. I don’t think you have had anyone call you from Disneyworld before his Captain’s interview for advice! I am proud to say I just got promoted to Captain and your class is well worth the money!!

Chief Kastros, I just wanted to say thank you for all of the help you provided me in your Mastering the Assessment Center conference. Your four day class gave me many hours of practice doing the assessment center which was 40% of my department’s total scoere for the Captain’s exam. I came out number one on our promotional list. I did well in my written exam and my simulator but by far my best portion was the assessment center, which is where I made up the majority of my points. Among other things your class helped me find the confidence and command presence within myself that I needed to do my best. Thank you once again.

I am so, so happy that I took your course. It was absolutely the difference in me being successful in my promotional process. I took your course with several other colleagues from my department. I came out number 5 of a list of 47. There are three (3) of us in the top 5 for Captain. There are 5 of us in the top 10. I am grateful for your knowledge and I continue to build up on my KSA’s.

This is the best Fire Service course work I’ve ever received. Andoni really understands leadership. His influence was instrumental in my successful promotion and helped me a geat deal in understanding myself and my peers. Proof, even Old Salts can gain new insight. If you’ve not taken his course’s or read the book..Do So! It will be a gift that keeps giving.

Dear Chief Kastros,I’d like to thank you again for the wonderful program that you and your colleagues have put together. I was excited to atttend your class (after previewing the book), but was truly unprepared for its magnitude. I went back to my room every night emotionally, and physically drained, as I gave my all to the class. I believe that everyone that attended did so as well. Everyone there demonstrated who they really are, and how they apply it to the fire service on a daily basis. They showed that it was not about a test, but about their honest desire to contribute to the fire service, and society in general. The caliber of students that enter, and leave your program are top notch. While emphasizing that the testing process is only a small part of the big picture, you prepared us for overall success in the process itself. Well, it worked. I came out #1 in our Fire Captain Promotional process, and promote to the rank of Fire Captain effective October 22, 2007. I see what it means to being an effective, caring, and proficient fire officer, and now begin the road to emulating that behavior. My family and I thank you for providing this education to the fire service community. This is succession planning at its best!
Scott, San Jose City FD Posting Date: 08/31/07 05:52:00
Truly THE BEST training class I’ve ever attended (and I’ve attended a fair share). Extremely motivational and applicable to aspects of the job that go far beyond a promotional exam. The quality of fire fighters attending was, in itself, inspirational! The workshop really made each person dig deep inside themselves to find the strengths, weaknesses and KSA’s that each of us should really know about ourselves anyways. To some degree, this course was somewhat life changing, making me want to be an even better person, on and of the job.

In my opinion, EVERY firefighter should take this course in order to develop better fireground “common sense” and an appreciation for what officers are going through. The more firefighters exposed to this material will increase common fireground language, goals, and accountability. Every officer should be using some method equal to the one’s taught in this course to enhance their ability to handle any type of incident with the ultimate systematic approach to effectively mitigate emergencies and track crews.

The methods effectively taught in this workshop will not only greatly increase a fire fighters chance for promotion but more importantly, they will greatly increase your chances to PERFORM the job safely and effectively. Managing people and resources with greater accountability and respect will be the ultimate benefit of investing in this particular training.

The training that Chief Kastros provides is a must if you are trying to promote. His training is very thorough and personable. He can easily recongize a canidate’s weakness and is able to teach and provide in-depth knowledge to help overcome an issue. I honestly believe that with his help you can move from the middle to the top of the promotional list. Thanks again Andoni. Tom Anselmo #1 Captain List for EDHFD 2007

Chief Kastros, I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you so very much for your training class “So You What To Promote.” Without this course I would have not known how to prepare myself for my Captains Exam. Receiving an over-all #2 on the list was such a blessing. Your knowledge and experience was an invaluable tool, and your words of encourage meant so much to me. I look forward to working with you in the near future. Once again, thank you! Respectfully Submitted, Martin C – Sacramento City Fire

The workshop was very relevant and applicable to the assessment center. Andoni, Thanks for all your help with the assessment center. Dear Andoni,I just wanted to take a moment to tell you that without your classes I know I would not have been promoted. Thank You!!! My family also thanks you. As you know, I had taken our Dept.’s BC promotional exam in the past and the results were not what I wanted. This time around, with your inspirations, personal coaching, and S.W.O.T. evaluation to my own situation; I must admit, being “numero uno” in our BC’s list, is a humbling and rewarding position. Your classes gave me the foundational processes that I needed to apply to my study habits to succeed. But it is beyond the promotional classes. Your teachings have transcended to my daily operations. I have taken your techniques and processes to how I treat the personnel under my battalion command , emergency situations and how I treat our internal and external customers.

Thank you for having faith in me and your motivation that allowed me to reach levels that I never dreamed of.

God Bless You and Your Family.

Your Friend,

Juan Diaz Battalion Chief San Jose Fire Department
